U.S. BANCORP SECOND-QUARTER PROFIT FALLS 76 PERCENT

U.S. Bancorp, one of the 10 largest U.S. banks, on Wednesday said second-quarter profit fell 76 percent, a smaller decline than expected, hurt by broad-based credit deterioration.
